With the loft at 9.5º the driver gave me very good ball flight, high and piercing.With a Stiff flex perhaps it would be too rigid, so I think that Regular is more suitable for most golfers.
As soon as I tried it I knew that it’s very good. Although I play with a Stiff shaft on my usual driver, I really liked this Regular flex.

In the driving range of Terramar CG at Sitges (Barcelona, Spain), with Toni Alcazar, pro of the club and El Doctor Golf, we tested the driver with a 9.5º loft and the rest of the standard configuration, assembled with a Fujikura RocketFuel shaft in Regular flexibility. The lightweight characteristics of the shaft coupled with the RBZ Stage 2 driver’s mass properties work together to create a moderate draw bias. That, along with balancing the club to a slightly higher swing weight, allows the driver to promote faster swing speed for most golfers.Īs for its trajectory, the Loft Sleeve Technology, one of the main points shared with the R1, allows the player to control the flight of the RBZ Stage 2 by easily adjusting the loft, lie and face angle of the club head with 12 possible positions within the window of 1.5º loft adjustment. With the driver assembled with a longer, lighter (50-gram) Fujikura RocketFuel shaft, and with a light grip, the total club weight of the driver is under 300 grams. The RBZ Stage 2 is the second generation of RocketBallz, which was very successful last year, which has evolved with the centre of gravity lower and more forward, a more aerodynamic head shape, an expansive club face and a new shaft, which combined together promote more distance than the first RBZ driver.

On the other hand, we deduce that the RocketBallz Stage 2 is aimed at a wider range of players, from pros to high handicaps, who are looking for a plus in distance which is easy to get. The R1 offers longer distance with greater accuracy from the tee to pros and low handicap players, tuning the golf club to a maximum through its extraordinary adjustability. This is a completely different driver, which shares some technologies, the white colour and the quality level of the R1, but which targets a different player profile. Overall the TaylorMade RBZ RocketBallz Driver is a very good club and one we would recommend.Ma– After having tasted the excellence of the new R1 TaylorMade Golf driver, what could we expect from its brother for the 2013 season, the RocketBallz Stage 2? Will it be the cheap version of the R1?Īfter testing it… it is obviously not. The standard Matrix X-Con 5 shaft is better than recent stock shafts on TaylorMade's standard models but still not as good as the TP version so make sure you get fitted for the correct one for your swing. However using the adjustable hosel on the RBZ driver we were able to take some loft off to reduce the height, although this did change the lie angle of the club, but that was OK. On the course the RocketBallz Driver felt and sounded very good and the ball flight was a little on the high side.
The lie is also down a degree and a half and combined with the shorter shaft length you feel much more comofrtable over the ball. It also means less weight and the combination of a light head, shaft and grip makes this is a light club at under 300 grams. Thankfully TaylorMade have reduced the length of the shaft by half an inch to 46 inches so even though it feels long, it is much more manageable and that will mean more accuracy. At address it has a more rounded head and it sits behind the ball very nicely and the white head/black face colour scheme makes it very easy to align. The TaylorMade RBZ RocketBallz Driver succeeds the Burner Superfast 2.0 driver and the standard version is a lot better.
